Welcome to our new project, the Daily Bible Devotional. The goal is to help you understand and apply

scripture as you go through a New Testament Bible read five days a week, Monday through Friday,

as we move from Matthew straight through to Revelation. In under four minutes each morning, we will recap the chapter,

make some application, present thought questions for the day, and offer a prayer together.

Welcome back as we continue our study in 2nd Peter. We're in Chapter 2. Paul warns that false teachers

will arise among the people. These individuals will secretly introduce destructive heresies

and deny the Lord who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves. Many will follow their

shameful ways and as a result, the truth

will be maligned. These teachers are driven by greed and exploit others with deceitful words.

Peter assures believers that God knows how to judge the wicked and rescue the righteous. He reminds

them of past judgments, such as the flood and the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah.

These false teachers are bold, arrogant, and corrupted by their sinful desires.

They promise freedom, but are themselves enslaved by sin.

Peter exclaims it would be better for them to never have been born than to know the truth and to malign it so sinfully.

False teacher is a very interesting topic, not just people who make mistakes in their teaching,

they're intentional in their heart and it's hard to root them out, but God knows, God's in

control and he'll handle it. We must remain alert and grounded in the truth of God's word because false teachers

still exist and can lead many astray. Their words may sound convincing, but their hearts are

filled with pride and greed. We're called to test what we hear against scripture and stay committed

to sound doctrine. We cannot follow the crowd or be swayed by messages that distort the truth.

God is just and will judge those who corrupt his word, but he also knows how to protect those
