Welcome to our new project, the Daily Bible Devotional. The goal is to help you understand and apply

scripture as you go through a New Testament Bible read five days a week, Monday through Friday,

as we move from Matthew straight through to Revelation. In under four minutes each morning, we will recap the chapter,

make some application, present thought questions for the day, and offer a prayer together.

Welcome to our study today as we conclude our walk through 2nd Peter.

In this final chapter, chapter 3, believers are urged to remember the words spoken by the

apostles and the commands given through the apostles.

Scoffers will arise in the last days following their own sinful desires and questioning

the promise of Christ's return.

They will deliberately ignore that God once judged the world through the great flood

and that he will one day judge it again, this time by fire.

Peter explains that the Lord is not slow in keeping his promises, but is patient,

giving time for all to come to repentance.

The day of the Lord will come like a thief without warning,

and the natural creation will be destroyed.

Therefore, believers are called to live holy and godly lives as they look forward to the eternal home of righteousness.

Deceivers come and say God's not real or Christ's not coming or this world won't end. It's

all Satan's deception. We're living for something more. Don't get drawn away. As we anticipate the

return of Christ, we anchor our hope and his promise, knowing that his timing is perfect. Though the

world may mock or ignore the truth, we trust that God is

patient and merciful, allowing more people to turn to him. This truth shapes how we live every day.
