This is CBS I on the world I I'm John Bachelor. I welcome Anatole

leaving my colleague. He's at the Quincy Institute for Responsible State Craft.

He and his colleagues have written extensively about the Black Sea Basin at war, that's Ukraine, but there are other

states involved in this contest and return to the headlines about Georgia. You will recall that Georgia began the cycle of

American involvement in the Black Sea Basin in this latest iteration when there was

a disruption and contest battle in Georgia in the summer of 2008.

Vladimir Putin then the premier not president of Russia.

As I recall came rushing back from his seat at the Beijing Olympics.

At the same time there were dire words talking about Georgia being broken.

It was cut up into pieces and these many years later remains the

beginning of the story. There is a vote this weekend in Georgia and I welcome

Anachol to comment because at the close of his extensive Quincy paper I recommend to all of you,

Anatoll and his colleagues recommend avoiding black and white good guy bad guy scenarios in Georgia

though we do have a puzzling headline this morning from Europe.
