Is it a sin to blank?

Hello my friends, welcome back to the morning mindset.

That is a question that I've received in my history as a pastor over and over and over

and the blank has been filled in with any number of different issues.

People come, they're concerned about their spiritual walk and they want to know is this

particular action or this particular way of living, sinful in God's eyes.

It's a valid question and it's one that we need to answer carefully, but the answer

doesn't come by making a list of don'ts and saying these are the things God has disproved

with.

The answer comes through understanding something that we're going to get into today in

Romans chapter 14.

The Apostle Paul's been speaking to us about how to love our neighbor, how to love the

brother or sister in Christ who is perhaps weaker in their faith than we are.

And what we're going to find out today is that this is not an issue of crossing teas

and dotting eyes.

It's not a matter of rules and regulations and being careful to walk in a certain way.

It's a matter of faith.

Now the issue in Paul's day that he's using as an example is the issue of meat that had

potentially been sacrificed to an idol and some people in their conscience were very

sensitive about that and they did not want to eat that meat because they felt that by

eating it, somehow they were participating in the worship that had happened in using that

meat.
