Hey, what's going on guys? My family and I just pulled up to this park and it's one of our favorite parks.

The whole thing is like made out of wood. It's very, very well done, very old, but super cool.

And the kids always ask, can we go to the wooden park? And so we're here, we're at the wooden park.

And I just started to think about wood in the Bible and what the Bible says about wood.

And there's one story in Isaiah where it's a parable, this guy who cuts down a tree, takes the wood, uses some of it to make a fire to make food to warm himself.

But then he uses some of the wood also to make an idol,

a small mini G God, fake God, and he bows down and he worships it.

The same food that he's using, the same wood that he's using as a microwave,

the same wood that he's using as a heater, he's also worshipping.

And that illustration is meant to show us the ridiculousness in worshiping creation over the creator. And you might be thinking,

in a modern world, Alex, you know, we don't have idols anymore. We don't worship false gods anymore.

But in a lot of ways, we don't think about,

we're still worshiping the creation over the creator.

The good way to know whether you are worshipping the creator or the creation is to ask

yourself, what am I sacrificing?

Anytime you sacrifice something,

it could be that you're doing it in worship to someone or to something.

So, for example, you might say, well, I sacrifice my time for my family.

I sacrifice my time, you know, for the people closest to me.
