What's going on, everybody in my backyard?

I want to talk to you about greeting gluttony.

We're called to do two things as men and women, mainly,

and that is to be fruitful and multiply. That can be one thing. And then also make disciples.

We're either called, and that can look like two ways, having kids or, you know, loving God,

loving others, using your gifts that benefit the church, that awaken sleepers spiritually

from the dead and bring them back into the fold of God.

When you are actively walking in obedience to God and you say, okay, I want to get married.

I'm going to have kids and I'm going to teach my kids about the word of God. You're making disciples out of your kids. Or maybe you're

called to singleness and you're not going to have kids. You're still called to make kids of God in a way

by making disciples, by using whatever gifts the Holy Spirit has given you in the church. Now, the two things

that get in the way of that, us being fruitful,

us making disciples, either physically or spiritually, because we're talking about two different

realms, right? We're talking about physically making babies, having kids as men and women,

or we're also talking about spiritually making disciples. But the two things that get in the way

of both those areas

is gluttony and greed.

Gluttony and greed.

Now, how so?

Number one, sometimes we think that people who struggle

with gluttony are people who are overweight.

It's not that way.
