I Really Messed Up! | The Emma Guns Show

πŸ“ LI mean, I didn't really but it'd be easy to look at the change in my weight and assume I had, right? Instead, this challenge is proving to me what makes me feel good and also giving me a 'normal' to come back to so I never spiral into over-eating and unhelpful/unhealthy food habits again...

πŸ‘— In this video I'm wearing:

An old The Kooples blouse that's no longer available unfortunately.

Hello, high and welcome to another episode of The Emmer Gunn Show, and thank you if you are

0:13.3

returning to this video because you are watching me as I attempt to lose 10 pounds. Now, I need to

0:20.7

stop saying that because actually this isn't

0:22.2

about losing 10 pounds. It is very much about being a woman in her late 40s who wants to

0:28.3

body recomp and hoping that along the way, that recomp, which means reducing my body fat and

0:33.8

increasing my muscle mass, leads to a shift in my scale weight. And I sort of dathly stupidly,

0:40.4

and I'm sorry that I'm preempting every single episode to say this, but I'm at pains to say it,

0:45.7

because saying that you want to lose 10 pounds is kind of like that cover thing that says,

0:49.7

bikini body writing in two weeks. It rolls off the tongue. But what we're really trying to do here,

0:54.3

what I'm really trying to do here, is to change my body composition so that my muscle is

0:59.2

increased and my body fat is decreased. Why? Because metabolically, that will make me more

1:04.1

efficient if I have more lean muscle. I also like being stronger. I like building muscle.

1:09.9

And as somebody who has been obese in the past

1:14.0

and is still technically on the BMI scale overweight, I would like to drop my body fat percentage

1:19.9

for the reasons that there are complications. There are health issues associated with a higher

1:27.4

body fat percentage

1:28.1

that we can go into another time. But I mean, really, this is fundamentally about how does a

1:32.1

woman who has a history of binge eating modify their diet and exercise routine in order to

1:38.8

achieve this goal? And I'm going to tell you that this week, I have gained weight, not just a little bit of weight,

1:45.3

three pounds, but do I look worried? Oh, sorry, if you're listening to the podcast, I'm

1:49.8

obviously filming this as well, and I'm staring down the barrel of the camera looking like,

1:54.9

of course I'm not. I'm trying to raise an eyebrow, but I simply cannot do that. I am not worried.
