Today's 10 minute walk is helping you create a walking habit you will love.

Hi, I'm Dave. If you're brand new, welcome. I want to offer you 90 days to a walking habit you'll love.

0:14.0

It's a five-part plan that I believe will change your life. It's free. There's a link in the show notes. Today's walk is going to be a little

0:23.1

bit noisier than usual. Number one, I'm walking into the wind. It's a breezy day here in

0:30.0

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. So you're going to hear that. I'm also walking next to a busy road

0:36.2

that at the moment isn't busy, but I turn around, see a couple

0:39.7

of vehicles that are getting ready to drive by, so you're going to hear traffic as well.

Love the first of the year and creating new goals and the excitement that came with that. But over time, I recognize that most of those goals, no matter how they were framed

2:03.9

or worded, ended up in failure. And that was frustrating. That was discouraging. I cannot say that I'm

2:13.1

done with goals, but my relationship with goals is different.

2:20.3

Moving here to Myrtle Beach four and a half years ago, that was a huge goal that could not

2:26.3

have been accomplished by creating habits.

2:30.3

What this viewer says, they're done with goals, instead they're focused on creating habits.

2:36.3

And I'll unpack that just a little bit more in a moment, but I still think there is a place

2:42.8

for goals, for big goals, that can help and motivate me to accomplish things in a way that habits cannot.
