gardening information all right today we have sort of a general question, not from a specific

person today, but just in general a comment that I get a lot.

People will say, man, it's so cool to see what you're growing, but I can't really grow things.

Well, first of all, that's part of the reason I started up at gardening in the first place

to help teach people how to have a green thumb, but I kind of think

that I don't have a green thumb is sort of a BS statement, to me at least.

So I just don't really think that that's a thing. Anyone can have a green thumb.

Gardening isn't very hard. You just have to understand how plants grow.

Okay? So this is the chief reason that people tend to fail at

gardening. They don't really know how a plant grows and they don't really know

what inputs or what conditions help a plant to grow.

So it's not enough to just toss a seed in the dirt, give it some water, and then hope for the best.

Of course, with some seeds and some plants that can work, but different

plants require different nutrients at different times. Does that sound complex? Well, it is and it isn't.

The coolest thing about gardening is that agriculture has been around for at least 10,000 years. So as a species of

human beings on this planet we've had more than enough time to figure out how to grow almost any plant that you'll ever want to grow in your own backyard.

So tap into that knowledge. I find that a lot of people who make that comment to me when they see my garden and they're walking by or when they're looking at my stuff online, they'll say,

oh man, I just don't have a green thumb, it's so cool, I can barely even keep
