In the decades I've been guiding people on the vegan journey, I have rarely met one person who doesn't say I don't eat a lot of meat, dairy, and eggs.

Most people have this perception of themselves, and yet someone's eating the animals in the US alone 10 billion land animals are brought into this world only for the purpose of being taken out of it.

So someone's eating the animals and yet everyone says, I don't really eat a lot of meat, dairy, and eggs.

Well, I have to ask, compared to what? Compared to how much you could eat compared to how much people ate a hundred years ago? Like, what barometer are we using when we say that?

One of the difficulties is that our perception of ourselves and our habits is not always aligned with reality.

The truth is you don't know how much you eat of this stuff until you stop. You don't know how much you do of anything until you stop doing it.

It's only when you stop that you are able to clearly see your habits. It's only when you stop that you realize how habitually you reach for something without thinking about it.

Changing your behavior for 30 days gives you the opportunity to reprogram your habit, and that is why I created the 30-day vegan challenge well over 11 years ago.
