Right today, we are back on the topic of our identity in Christ, meaning who are we because

of what Jesus has done for us. And today, we're going to look at this truth from Ephesians

chapter 1 that we are forever forgiven. Forever forgiven. I mean, you know what it's

like to be forgiven by someone, you know what it's like to forgive someone, but those

feelings of guilt creep back in at times, especially when it's something very bad that

we've done. Friends, God assures us. We are forever forgiven. Let's look at Ephesians

chapter 1 verses 7-8. It says in Him, meaning in Jesus. So let's unpack that for a moment,

through what Jesus did by living a perfect life, by dying on the cross, by taking our

sin on Him as He died on that cross, and burying it as He was buried, and leaving it in

the grave when He rose. It says in Him, we have redemption through His blood. See, that's

the description of what He did. The forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches

of His grace, which He lavished upon us in all wisdom and insight. So let's stop for

a moment and think this through. He says, we're forgiven. We know what that means. It

means all of our trespasses, all of our sins, our wrongs, our evil that we have done, thought,

felt. All of that was nailed to the cross with Jesus. And it says here, we have redemption

through His blood. It means the blood He shed was a sufficient payment for all the sin
