Today we'll hear from Matthew, who's sharing a story about a summer camp for Christian scientists.

About five years ago, a counselor and I got into an argument about some things that I was doing.

I thought that I was definitely right, and I was just getting upset.

I eventually just like stormed off and went farther down the dock because we were fishing.

The more I thought about it, the more I realized that with God as our one mind, there's no room for human will in God's all power and presence.

And that took the idea of me trying to force my will out of the picture and helped me to

understand what my counselor was going through and why it was that I shouldn't have been doing

what I was doing. The time, whenever I was upset, I didn't catch a single fish until I went over

to my counselor, explained what I was going through, he explained what was going on with him.

We hugged it out, and then we both cast into the water and a few seconds later we got a bite.

I believe it was like just over a foot long largemouth bass. It reminded me a lot of whenever Jesus

told his disciples to cast their net on the right side, how they had such an abundance of fish

like they could barely pull up the nets.

And I know it was just one fish, but it was still a pretty big fish. And I really liked that

because people talk about casting a net on the right side as understanding better the situation.

And I feel like that was definitely a representation of that. I felt closer to God and

grew closer. The biggest thing about Christian science for me is in Christian science, we know

that everything can be healed through the power of God.
