Hello and welcome to the Christian Science Daily Lift.

Today, we'll hear from Quina.

For a lot of my life, I've struggled to be comfortable around people I don't know and struggled to see my own

worth as a person and just kind of felt shy or social anxiety, that sort of thing. Over the past few

years, I've been working a lot to see that I can be confident and that I do have value, and I don't

need to find that within my personality, but that I can find that through God and through

the strength and intelligence and creativity and dominion that is imparted in me through God.

This summer I took on some new leadership positions at camp,

and I was quite overwhelmed with all the work

and all the different things that it seemed like I was personally responsible for

and that I needed to do and I needed to do it right.

And a Christian science practitioner shared with me the idea that God was doing the work,

not me.

God was in control.

And I think it's important to remind yourself of that and really believe that and take out of it a sense of self or a sense of ego

and lean instead on God. So I don't need to worry about what everyone is going to think about me or the way I'm doing things.

I just need to think about expressing divine love and taking care of people and know

that I have that ability and all the energy and strength and presence and assertiveness that I need to do

that. This summer has gone very well. There has been so much opportunity for growth and learning and challenging myself,

and I find that every need that has come up has been able to be met.

There's many times when I felt like I don't know how I'm going to do this,

but harmony is the law of God,
