Welcome to Bible Thinker, the program dedicated to thinking

biblical about everything and I'm really excited actually to talk about what we're

going to do today. We're going to deal with the issue of hypocrisy in the church

which is such a needful needful thing for us to talk about

because we need to reflect and ask the question is there hypocrisy in me and if

there is I need a root it out and deal with it right away.

But we're also going to talk about the biblical concept of Jesus as the

cornerstone, which is a mind-blowing eye-opening idea once you understand the significance of it prophetically and

biblically. All right let's get to it.

All right so turn to 1st Peter chapter 2, and that's what we're going to be tonight, 1st Peter

chapter 2. And what I like to do is just read through at least a portion of it in preparation

so we can kind of get the overall, get the scripture in our minds,

and then as we go through it, we'll understand it that much better.

Because you ever been in a Bible study and you hear what they're saying, but you can't tell how it relates to the verses on the page

I never want to do that I mean I really I'm not saying it's never I've never done it I hope not but I don't know I've taught

thousands of times so it's certainly a possibility

but I don't want to do that I mean we draw we draw the teaching from the word

otherwise it's what it's powerless You know it might be good ideas or

great suggestions but we couldn't call it a Bible study or you know the

preaching of God's word and that's what we're after here. So first Peter

chapter 2 verse 1 it says, therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit,

hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking
