What's the biggest bone on your own body that you could bite through?

I'm pretty sure I could bite off my own finger. I think it'd be like biting into a frozen carrot.

And I'm fairly certain I could take on some of the small bones in my foot, maybe some of the bones in my hand and wrists, so long as I got lucky, and they broke

before my teeth did. All the other bones, though, I'd be more or less certain my teeth would

crack first. Bones are insanely tough. Though not as dense as steel, by weight, bones are way

stronger than steel. And they can resist, in ideal

cases, thousands of pounds of pressure. The hardest bone to bite into would definitely be the femur.

That'd be like biting a piece of concrete. It's thick, about 9 tenths of an inch in diameter,

and there's literally a 0% chance of that thing breaking just from you biting it.

Your femur, your thigh bone, is basically invincible in normal circumstances.

And so when it breaks, it is a big deal.

I remember a friend of mine was at a football game, and one of the players broke their

femur getting tackled in a highly unusual way.

And the sound of the crack was so loud that people ran off the field because they thought it was a gunshot.

So, you aren't biting through a bone like that.

A hyena could bite through it like a toothpick.

A hyena could grab your thigh in their mouth and bite down, and your bones would shatter as if you'd been run over by a car.

This isn't hyperbole.

Hyenas have been seen crushing giraffe bones in their mouths.

Bones three times thicker than your femur.

Bones with a nearly three inch diameter. Your femur, bones with a nearly three-inch diameter.

Your femur would be a snack to them.
