When you do land a really good joke, when you get the, you know, laughs you were hoping for,

how does that feel?

Oh, I mean, the best thing is live performance.

Because the, when you get that laugh, basically a wave.

It feels like a wave of acceptance sort of washing over you.

It's a beautiful, beautiful feeling. And the even better version of that is when you're then able to

kind of ride that wave. You then might think of something else to sort of as a little topper to that and you're able to kind of extend that way, if you then might think of something else to sort of as a little

topper to that and you're able to kind of extend that laugh out a bit longer.

It is heaven.

I think it's a sort of, it is slightly addictive.

Yeah.

How long does that glow typically last, do you think?

Oh, it's over by the...

Very, very quickly.

Generally, the glow of anything doesn't last beyond that night.

So you're constantly on the chase?

Yeah, 100%.

A sense of humour is something our culture seems to prize.

We want our dates to be funny.

It's a bit of a cliche now, but one of the most famous examples in the literature is that

if you have a look at Lonely Hearts adverts, now what you tend to find is that the women always ask for men with a sense of humor.
