Hello everyone. Welcome back to the show and today we are going to talk about the

wax plant aka the Hoya plant. This is a super popular house plant outdoor plant and it really doesn't require a whole lot in the way of

care so today we are going to delve into the sweetly scented world of the Hoya plant. First of all, there are 200 to 300 different

species with multiple different cultivars. So some of these bear these gorgeous aromatic flowers. Others are vines and they have a really big diversity of leaf shapes. So of course we cannot cover all these in the show and I would recommend of course to go to epic gardening

going to talk today about a couple different varieties and then how to take care

of Hoyas. The first would be probably the most popular

Hoya Carnosa, also known as the Wax Plan. This is the variety that won the Royal

Horticulture Society's Award of Garden Merit, and it's just a phenomenal, phenomenal house plant.

It's got this waxy foliage and the star-shaped flowers are common to all varieties of the hoya.

Next you've got hoya Australis or Common Wax Flower. It's

native to Australia. The flowers look quite a bit different. Of course they're still

star shaped, but they have some interesting unique

characteristics to them next probably my favorite would be Hoya

This one originated on the island of Java and it gets the name from the shape of its leaves.

It resembles those of like Ceylon cinnamon or what's known as a true

cinnamon plant in its shape and its size. So again we could go on and on with these
