Hey, what's up everyone. So today we're going back to the edible life and we're talking about

Gardening in winter. A lot of people think you can't and to some degree that's true. There are certainly things that you're limited on when it comes to winter because that day is so short, those

temperatures are so cold, and you're often encountering snows, hails, sleets, frosts, whatever

the case may be, depending on where you live in the world.

So let's talk about some things that you can do and maybe some things that you shouldn't

do when it comes to winter gardening.

Well, first of all, as long as the ground is soft enough to work, you can plant stuff.

And it's not a big deal if you plant some things and the frost ends up killing it.

At least you'll know how long you have before that frost and then we'll talk about

things that you can do to extend the season.

Mulch is going to be pretty key if you're going winter gardening because it's

going to help keep that soil at a more consistent temperature and a typically warmer

temperature, which is what almost all your plants are going to want.

You can do like a compost mulch and then throw some bark or some wood chips or some straw on top to help

supplement that soil as well as keep it nice and warm. You can water in advance of a predicted freeze.

If you know a freeze or a frost is coming,
