As a primarily edible gardener, I will confess that the world of succulents is a little

I mean, certainly living in San Diego, you get a better perspective on them than maybe

someone living in a colder climate where they're a little harder to pull off.

Now, I know that you use these a lot and I'm assuming your own garden, but also the designs

And I would love maybe just a primer for those who don't know exactly what a succulent

So a succulent plant is a plant that is adapted to growing under dry conditions by the way

they evolve is that when there is a lot of water available, they take up that water and

they store it in their roots, in their stems, or in their leaves.

So they have really fleshy, usually leaves.

We see the leaves.

That was the most obvious succulents.

Those are the ones we use in the garden the most, really, really fleshy leaves.

So you might be familiar with agave or aloes or a chavaria or calendcoes.
