Several years ago, when we first began the Enjoying the Journey broadcast, we started with my favorite book of the Bible.

I've adopted it really is my life's study on the book of

Philippians. And the theme, of course, of that great book is the joy of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Truly, it is the Bible treaties on what it means to enjoy the journey. Now we're thrilled to share

this anniversary series with you again in the hopes that God will use it in your life to help you learn to enjoy the Lord Jesus Christ at whatever stage you happen to be on on life's journey.

In 1900, they conducted a survey of average Americans, and they asked average Americans if they

would identify a certain number of things, specific things,

that they needed to truly make them happy. Now this is in 1900. In 1900 the

average American identified 72 things needed to make them happy. They did

the same survey again in 1950 and with the exact exact same questions, average Americans in 1950, the list had now grown to 496 things.

I shudder to think how many things would be on that list if the same survey were conducted today.

You see, the truth matter is there are so many restless people today, and it's not just lost people.

So many times, it's Christian people, people that are confessed Christ as their Savior and following the Lord Jesus, and yet they seem to be so restless, so discontent.

We've come in our study in Philippians chapter four to these truths on how to stay

happy in Jesus. We've learned first that if we're going to stay happy in Jesus, we have to stay

right with one another. We have to stay prayerful. We have to stay in the Word. And then we come to
