Today is a special episode because we're not filming in the

studio up in Steubenville, instead we're down here at Ogle Bay Resort, along with over 200 priests

for our annual priest conference, which we've been doing here at the Ogle Bay Resort in West

Virginia, about 45 minutes from Steubenville for many years. But today,

I am certainly grateful for the honor of interviewing a good friend of many years. Father

Charles Sampson, a priest of the Archdiocese of St. Louis, and also a professor of scripture

at Kenrick Seminary there in St. Louis. Yes. You have a lot of experience. You studied in Rome. I did. You got your licentiate at the Biblical. At the Biblical Institute. Correct. So the Pontifical Biblical Institute. And you wrote a Tocina, a small dissertation on Exodus 11, correct? Indeed, yes.

And then you also went on for the doctorate?

I did at the Pontifical Gregorian University,

where I wrote a doctorate on Matthew 548,

Be perfect as your Heavenly Father is perfect.

So you moved across the street from the Biblicalum to the Gregorian.

Jumped across the piazza.

Yes.

I love that area of Rome.

So today, what we agreed upon was let's talk about the Exodus. Oh, yes, let's do it. The Exodus as book, because you're preaching through the

book of Exodus this week with the priests as our chaplain. But we're also looking at the Exodus

not only as a book, but also as a historical event.

Although many scholars contest its historicity, I think we're on pretty sure grounds,

but we're not going to dive into that alleyway.
