I'm Dr. Scott Hahn, and I want to welcome you to the Road to Amas, a podcast we do here at the St. Paul Center.

Today, I am delighted to be joined with Clement Harold. Klem has been

a student here at the university, and then you went on to Notre Dame, got your master's degree.

You are no stranger to people who tune on a regular basis for our teaching. What was your

triple major? My majors were theology, philosophy, and

classics. And a minor in German? Minor in German, that's right. Okay. And you graduated the top

of your class a few years ago before you went on to Notre Dame. And what are some of the things that

you do for us here at the St. Paul Center? Yeah, I continue to be involved with the letters from home, which is the daily reflections on the mass readings.

And that's always a source of joy to me.

And I write for the blog, so taking different scripture questions each week and trying to address those as best I can.

So take note and look the stuff up. You will be delighted.

Well, I'm delighted, as I mentioned, to have you as a guest because you're in England most of the time now.

And I should just add parenthetically to get this truck through the intersection.

You introduced our youngest son, David, to his future wife, your sister, Martha. And so our hearts are filled with gratitude

for that fortuitous introduction. But you're in England now doing a number of things, but you're

in the States for the conference that we had, the Applied Biblical Studies Conference, and there at the conference, you did

a presentation or two that I'd like to tap into. Can you tell us a little bit about what you

were doing for us as we were tackling the Gospel of John?

Absolutely, yeah. Thank you, Dr. Tarnum. It's an honor to be on the show, and likewise,

it was an honor to speak at the applied biblical studies conference.

I gave a couple of workshops. One was on our ladies' role in the gospel of John, but the other one that

was more in line with what I've been researching over the past year was on the problem of suffering
