What is up everyone? Welcome back to the show and today we're going to talk about

how to overwinter our pepper plants with Jason of Boheka Pepper Hut so this. You know, you can grow peppers as an annual if you want to, or you can

overwinter them and grow them as a perennial. And this is something that Jason's done, and he even

has a mission to grow the world's longest living pepper plant.

As far as his research goes, he's found that they live to a certain amount of years and after that it can be a little bit difficult to keep care of them

but he sees no reason why they can't live longer so it's his own mission to see if he can

grow one that lasts a really really long time and you're gonna find out about all of that in today's

episode so let's go ahead and get into it.

last one for now and we're gonna talk about the lifespan of a pepper plant.

How long can they live for and then especially since you talked about starting your

peppers in October I'm assuming you got to overwinter those, how are we going to overwinter

our pepper plants?

So first of all, I guess let's figure out how long pepper plants live for in general.

Well, I've actually done a lot of research on this.

I was trying to figure this out just recently what the world record was for the

oldest pepper plant and I thought I actually found it in your area but it actually ended up being a like a pepper corn. it was a

a it in your area but it actually ended up being a like a pepper corn plant. It was it wasn't an actual

chili pepper. So I still didn't find the answer to to my question if there's like a world record out there for how long they can live.

So I basically have to go on what I know.

I've actually got pepper plants that are about four years old that I've overwintered.
