Summary
In this transparent and faith-filled episode of Dear Future Wifey, Laterras Whitfield sits down with Christian Bevere, host of the Dear Future Husband podcast, to talk about love, identity, and trusting God’s timing from singleness to marriage.
Christian shares how her platform began while she was praying for her future husband, documenting her journey of faith, preparation, and surrender long before she ever met him. She opens up about the incredible testimony of meeting her husband and getting married within just seven months, and the spiritual clarity that gave her confidence in their covenant.
She also speaks candidly about the pressures of marrying into a well-known ministry family as the daughter-in-law of John and Lisa Bevere, and how she had to guard her identity, her voice, and her marriage while navigating expectations and public perception.
In addition, Christian discusses the heart behind her new books, sharing how her personal seasons of waiting, becoming, and marrying inspired her message to others who are believing God for love.
This conversation is filled with wisdom for singles and newlyweds alike—covering the reality of waiting, the responsibility of marriage, and the importance of becoming secure in who God called you to be before saying “I do.”
Whether you’re in a season of preparation or promise, this episode will encourage you to trust God’s process with your love story.

| 0:00.0 | And he just led with that clarity. I never had to wonder where I was with him. That's good. I feel like it takes women's heart out of fight or flight when men do that. Say that one more time. It takes women's hearts out of fight or flight when you can lead with clarity. You were praying for my son long before he became your husband. If we can pray for our future children, why can't we pray for our future husband? Oh, that's just idle. That's like name it and claim it. No, I think it is partnering in faith. You are the host of dear future husband. How did that idea come about? I saw your podcast and I thought I can just copy and paste that. No, it was a sweet little incident. |
| 0:38.2 | I was praying for my future husband. You were praying for your future wifie. And from that was birth, this podcast of, man, how do we do that well? I was used to, which so many singles do today is I find a relationship. And then I say, okay, God, can you bless this? Yes. Rather than I need you to put blinders on my eyes because in this digital age, there are so many options. And then I got to this point of, Lord, I want you to guide me through this like I'm blind. And so I started soaking in information, walking through this healing. And then I got this brown leather vibe on Amazon because, of course, a guy would like brown leather. It's like my husband will love this one day. I'd have my quiet time first. Just pray with the Lord and then after that I'd just start praying for my future husband, writing him letters, highlighting scripture, which turned from like sweet prayers to really interceding for him. And when we got married, he would look at that gift I gave him on our wedding day and sometimes see that month you were interceding for that. Let me tell you what I was going through during that time. You don't know that in the time. You don't know what you're interceding for. So you can feel crazy. I'm sure you did writing letters like, dear so-and-so that I just pray is out there, but it's powerful. Did you have superficial stuff on your list when you look back at it? |
| 1:45.1 | Yeah. |
| 1:45.8 | Do I hate that my husband's six to unhandsome and Italian? |
| 1:48.9 | No. |
| 1:51.1 | I do not. |
| 1:51.9 | Let's get to how did the relationship blossom to the point of will you marry me? |
| 1:57.7 | What happened? |
| 2:10.0 | No. marry me. What happened? What started as a search for understanding became a journey of transformation. Every letter that I wrote led me to this day, the day I got married. November the 22nd, 2025, dear my forever. |
| 2:22.9 | Forever is a long time. |
| 2:25.2 | That's how long I love you. |
| 2:28.1 | Those lyrics echo through every fiber of my soul at the very thought of you. |
| 2:33.4 | This journey has culminated with you as both the award and the reward of my pursuit of love. |
| 2:40.5 | You are the award, the honor God placed before me, the recognition of growth, healing, and |
| 2:45.9 | becoming the man I needed to be. |
| 2:48.1 | And you are the reward, the blessing given after endurance, the gift promised to those who refuse to faint. |
