Well, hello there. It's Morgan Harper-Nichols here. And welcome to today's episode. One of the things that has

been helping me to stay hopeful right now is being able to find ways to create space. And in that space,

finding room to breathe and make new connections.

And making connections for me is like the act of chasing threads

and finding links between things to discover new meaning or to see something in a new way.

And one of the ways I love to do that is by listening to music and finding music that really

speaks to me. And I found some music. When I was looking for some songs for Instagram

reels, I found some music by this artist named Chad Lawson. Chad Lawson is a world-renowned

pianist who has spent time at the top of classical

billboard and iTunes charts. And I found myself just going back to his songs over and over and over

again. I was like, you know what? I think it would be really interesting to talk to Chad. And we can

have a conversation about just creating space and creating room to breathe

with what we make and also just in daily life. So that's what this conversation is today. It's all

about just creating space, creating room to breathe with what we create and also just how we move

through day to day life.

The thing that I would just love to know is that I read somewhere that you did not grow up in a musical family. And I would just

love to know, was there a single moment? Or do you feel like it was like a series of moments that

help you discover a curiosity or love for music? So I did not grow up in a musical environment at all, but as a kid, there used to be,

and I'm going to age myself here, back in the 80s, there was a TV show called Shanana.
