How do you choose a composting system that makes sense for who you are as a grower as a

gardener, but also who you are as a homeowner or renter or apartment weller?

There really are so many different ways to compost off the top of my head I can think

of about fiveish ways, sort of general categories, and it is overwhelming to figure out which

one of those makes sense for you.

So I'll go over a rough framework and I'll kind of map it to how I grew up as a gardener

because of course I started off as an apartment gardener and back then there were only a couple

options that were open to me.

So let's go from small space to large space, right?

So in an apartment or balcony style setup, in my view you have about three methods available

to you.

The first one is to use Bokashi Composting.

So that would be using Bokashi brand to basically pre ferment food scraps and what this

allows you to do is actually compost almost anything that would come out of your kitchen

including meat and dairy and leftovers.

The only problem with this method in a balcony is you need somewhere to put that Bokashi

compost.

So you of course could bury it in your containers, but eventually based on the food

output coming out of your house, you will produce too much even for you to support on your

balcony.

So you'd need a secondary source to put that, maybe a community garden plot or a friend

or something like that.
