| 0:00.0 | This is the Gatsy Health podcast with Janique and Tristan Roney. |
| 0:17.8 | Hi guys. Welcome back to our podcast. |
| 0:41.4 | Hey, everyone. We're really excited. Well, Tristan is really excited about today. You should see the notes that he took on like this entire episode. And he even told me, Janique, you need to stick with the schedule. I did. I did eight years of graduate school just so that I could do this podcast episode because I got nothing else out of it. So you guys should feel really special |
| 0:49.3 | right now. So I am going to try and stick with the schedule as much as possible. But this is actually going to be a really fantastic episode. |
| 0:58.8 | Jokes aside, just because there's so much controversy with research. |
| 1:04.3 | And it seems like research is constantly contradicting itself. |
| 1:10.5 | And so how can we teach you guys to become research experts and filter out |
| 1:15.1 | all the BS out there? Because there's a lot. And this is a, this is going to be a really |

| 1:33.6 | There's no hope. |
| 1:34.6 | Right. |
| 1:35.0 | Because that is one of the very real risks of what we're going to talk about is that you |
| 1:39.6 | might completely lose faith in everything you hear when it comes to nutrition. And we don't necessarily |
| 1:45.6 | want that, but we do want you to have it. Not just nutrition, but research, basically. Like, |
| 1:49.7 | research around nutrition, research around medicines and medications. Research, especially in |
| 1:54.5 | nutrition and health. We'll put it that way. And so I guess we should just jump in. So the kind of the idea with this is that |
| 2:04.0 | research is everywhere and people love to use research as weapons to kind of defend their |
| 2:11.0 | particular approach to health, right? It starts to look a lot like religion. And I don't want to make |
| 2:17.1 | this about religion. I know how upsetting that can get for people, but you do see a lot of similarities where people choose their cult to follow. And then they will defend it to the death. And it turns out it's extremely easy to do that because no matter what opinions you hold, |
| 2:35.2 | there tends to be research that can support you and kind of dismantle your opponents. |
