What's going on everyone welcome back to the epic gardening podcast this week we've got

Josh satin on the podcast he's a filmmaker and a farmer he's got an awesome YouTube channel

he's a sharing all sorts of tips on small scales sustainable farming and Josh I actually

probably like most people I found you initially on YouTube and the title got me and it was

a trellis to make you jealous which I think might be one of your biggest videos right

absolutely that was like the first video that sort of took off for me and was like hey

now I should probably pay attention to YouTube and put more time into it right so if someone

hasn't seen that video or hasn't you know encountered you on YouTube just yet what would

be like a quick summary of your experience in the the market gardening world.

In terms of my experience I had I don't have a career in farming or even gardening for

that matter my background going back a little bit further I I thought high school for

five years I was a professional brewer for five years and after that looking for something

different to do and wanted to live a little more sustainably.

Start got some chickens, start growing some vegetables got hooked on market gardening

pretty quickly did that for about two years in my place very small scale I was selling

to families and then to restaurants and now last year I ran a nonprofit urban farm and

got that sort of rebuilt and now I am back on my home farm again focusing just on grown

vegetables keeping it really simple I'm really busy with YouTube and and content creation

so for me it's it's fighting that balance but we can get more into types of growing and

stuff like that but that's sort of my market gardening background okay cool yeah I mean

I think that's that's encouraging actually I think for someone listening to hear that

you did not come from some sort of generational background of farmers and especially with
