I have a question for you guys. Why is it called the Easter Egg Roll and not Easter Egg Hunts?

Because they roll them. What does an Easter Egg Roll even mean? What do you mean a rolling an egg?

Primary season begins in earnest in just two weeks and will feature

plenty of high profile fights within the two parties.

One of the biggest tests will be the sway former president Trump still holds

over the Republican Party and it's a test that Trump has created for himself.

He's waited into the fray and endorsed candidates in Republican primaries

including against incumbents in a way that's unheard of for former presidents.

At 538 we're tracking the types of candidates he's thrown his weight behind

and we're going to break down those trends today.

One trend has been his endorsement of candidates who've

shown distrust in the results of the 2020 election including candidates who are running for positions

that would oversee future elections. So we're going to take a deep dive into what can happen

when elections officials themselves believe Trump's big lie and have access to election
