All right, my name's Kevin, I'm a fellow urban gardener just like you and today we are

answering an email I got from Sally. It's a really familiar

question. It's actually the same question that I had when I was a beginner gardener and was wondering

how I could start seeds.

All right, here's Sally.

She says, I'm sure this is a silly question,

but I always see it recommended to plant more than one seed

per whole.

But why?

I just got a seed starting kit with some seeds and I want to make sure that I'm using them

efficiently.

Well, it's actually not a silly question, Sally.

That's something that a lot of people wonder when they start out and understanding the answer improves your understanding

of gardening and starting seeds in general because the answer to this question hinges on a really

Now I think we all know that not all seeds are created equal.
