Have you ever opened your Bible, read a few verses, but then walked away thinking, I didn't really hear anything from God.

Well, that used to be me every single day. But then I made this one mindset shift and suddenly reading the Bible became a real conversation with God.

And in this episode, I want to take you through what that shift was, but also three questions I ask

every time I read the Bible that has really shifted scripture from being silent words

to God actually speaking back. But with that being said, I'm your host, Darren Starks,

and I help you turn reading the Bible into real conversations with God. And if you're

watching this, I know exactly where you're at because it's where I once was. And the place that I was in,

it was as if I knew what to do, but I didn't know how to do it. I knew that I wanted to know God

personally and hear his voice every single day. But it seemed as if everything

that I was doing was not actually getting me to that point. And the one thing that changed

everything for me was this shift that I mentioned. And it started with how I was seeing or

approaching the Bible because I used to believe that the Bible was just there for me to gain

knowledge, but I started to realize that it actually existed for me to form a connection

with God, that the Bible didn't exist simply for me to gain more information, but for me to

have intimacy with Jesus. And as I began to actually allow that to

sit with me and become like the foundation of how I was just like approaching all that I did

when it came to the Word of God, I started to approach the Word, not necessarily looking for facts,

but looking for a person. And that person being Jesus. And so every time

that I sat down to start reading the word, what really shifted was I had an expectation, right?

I think of it very similarly with like any other person that you know in your life I have a relationship

with. Whenever you text them, call them to meet up

or talk, whether they catch up on life or just give them your thoughts on something that may be going
