Just one year ago, shortly after Alvin Bragg became the new Manhattan District Attorney,

the investigation into Donald Trump's role in the Stormy Daniels hush money case seemed like

it was headed nowhere. The investigation was deprioritized. The number of people who were

working on it began to dwindle, while others in the DA's office started referring to it as, quote,

a zombie case, end quote,

because it seemed dead, but at some point could come roaring back to life.

Fast forward to today, it's at the center of an historic prosecution of a former president

of the United States, the first ever.

Tomorrow night, Donald Trump is scheduled to return to New York as he prepares to turn

himself into prosecutors in downtown Manhattan,

and on Tuesday afternoon, he will be arraigned facing charges for his possible role in the scheme to keep Stormy Daniels

from revealing their alleged 2006 affair right before the presidential election of 2016. Trump continues to deny that he had a relationship with Daniels.

The exact charges that Trump faces right now are unknown,

because for now the indictment remains under seal.

But according to two sources familiar with the matter,

Trump is facing about 30 charges related to document fraud.

Security in and around the Manhattan courthouse where Trump will be

arraigned has been beefed up in recent weeks ever since Trump began making intimidating posts on

truth social directed at the Manhattan District Attorney's Office. For weeks now, the twice-impeached

ex-president has been vigorously attacking Alvin Bragg online and attacking virtually the entire American

justice system as the grand jury and prosecutors in Manhattan get closer, got closer to indicting him.
