starts now. And good morning to you. It is Saturday, April the 8th. I'm Ali Valshi. It's been an historic week

in American politics. While former President Donald Trump appeared for arraignment in Manhattan,

criminal court, political tensions around the country suggest that his extremist political ideology

will carry on whether or not he succeeds in getting back into the White House.

On Tuesday, we saw Trump in

unfamiliar territory inside a courtroom waiting for the judge to read the criminal charges

that have been filed against him. The former president, already twice impeached and still currently

facing a litany of other criminal and civil complaints, pleaded not guilty to the 34 felony counts of falsifying

business records in relation to the hush money payments made to Stormy Daniels, with whom

he allegedly had an affair. Trump continues to deny those allegations. He's also resorted to

making dozens of social media posts criticizing the Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, Juan Mershan,

the judge assigned to his case, and even their family members who've got nothing to do with

his prosecution.
