Summary

Dylan Schubert shocked the running world when he crossed the finish line in Madison in 3rd.

But he believed he was due for a breakthrough.

Despite a rocky summer filled with injury, Dylan maintained faith and confidence in himself.

Today's conversation chronicles the journey and story of Dylan.

Back in HS, Dylan was a 4:18, 9:09, 14:53 guy who qualified for NXN in both 2018 and 2019.

In college, despite not getting much recognition, Dylan has steadily been climbing to become one of the best runners in the country. He's a 3xXC All-American (11th, 24th, 3rd), an Outdoor NCAA qualifier in 5k, has run 3:58 in the Mile and 13:29 5k, is a Regional XC and 5k Champion, and an 8xConference Champion.

In today's conversation, Dylan walks me through his breakthrough performance, why he saw this coming, insights into his training, lessons from Coach Robert Gary, his ambitions for the future, his coaching business, and much more.
