Explore Your Personality: https://PersonalityHacker.com

In this episode, Joel and Antonia respond to a listener who uses imagined conversations to process thoughts, feelings, and emotions. They explore why a single behavior cannot always be tied to one cognitive function and look at how introverted intuition, extroverted thinking, and introverted feeling may work together. The conversation also shows why careful pattern recognition leads to more accurate personality typing.

When a person says, I want to be able to explain something to somebody else so they can understand it,

0:05.3

it is usually the thinking functions that we do that with, no matter what our preferences are,

even if we're feeling dominant.

The feeling functions want to get in rapport with the self and others, with an energy, with a sense of,

you know, humanness.

The thinking functions are the functions that help us articulate and express in a way

where we are trying to be in what we could call data rapport with somebody else. Thinking functions

name is Joel Mark Witt. And I'm Antonio Dodge. So one of the things, Antonio, that we talk a lot about here is taking your four letters of your personality type and going beyond just that label and going into what we call the cognitive map or what we've named the personality hacker car model. works, all four parts of it. There's more than that, but that's what we start with with people. One of the things that I'm, I guess I spend most of my career doing, I think you do too, and a lot of our students end up doing as well, is disabusing people of the idea that, like, one behavior directly connects to one part of cognition.

Yeah.

1:14.1

We spent a lot of time in our profiler training, our PLP programs, any program or anything we talk

about.

1:19.0

We're like, look, it's not just one behavior equals a cognitive function.

1:21.4

It's a plethora of things, lots of things that create behaviors, right?

1:26.6

All sorts of parts of you. Hence why functions

1:29.5

are squirmy. That's right. Or like hard to figure out sometimes. Yeah. Because the same behavior can

1:34.4

come from different functions. That's right. So as you're reflecting on your personality type or the

1:39.3

people's types in your life, like the personality types around you, it's really important to remember

1:43.2

that it's more complex than cognition to behavior. So we look at the map, but we look at the dynamics
