And early in the year, we typically try to have some episodes that are dedicated to spiritual

disciplines.

So that's what we want to talk about today.

One of our listeners wanted to know what your personal spiritual disciplines look like,

but I want to expand the question a little bit, because I think you're probably just like the rest

of us. Many people, especially early in the year, we make commitments. I'm going to pray more.

I'm going to study the Bible. I'm going to fast. We make all these commitments, but what the

challenge is is when life gets chaotic

and the kids are sick or you're having to work overtime, then what do you do when suddenly

you're not really in control of your schedule anymore? So I want to ask you two questions.

First of all, what do your personal devotions look like when you were able to follow your

ideal schedule? And then how do you modify them or how do you stay on your of all, what do your personal devotions look like when you were able to follow your ideal

schedule? And then how do you modify them or how do you stay on track when you're traveling

or life gets chaotic and you're in an especially busy season? Let me give you some

overall guidance and advice based on my experience. Then I share some of mine i'm not going to always be

completely specific because the lord did say in the sermon on the mount uh don't let your right hand

know what your left hand is doing and when you pray pray you know when you give don't don't let your

right hand know what your left hand is doing when you pray pray and secretly when you fast don't go around looking like you're fasting so i don't let your right hand know what your left hand is doing when you pray pray and secretly
