With the NFL draft just a week and a half away, all eyes suddenly turned to Pittsburgh.

And as much as we've spent plenty of time talking about quarterbacks, and we even spend

plenty of time talking about some of the superstars, we've forgotten maybe one of the best players

in this draft no matter the position because he's not the

running back it's the safety we keep forgetting about Caleb downs should your team take a

random player that's great even if the position is not perceived to be one of need buck rising

jason fits buck and fits on fox Radio. We were just talking about the fact

that Buck covers the Tennessee Titans. I'm a Raiders fan. Everybody knows that, right? So you and I

have plenty of experience around bad teams. Buck, I keep dying on this hill that, you know, at the

end of the day, bad teams need great players. So at some point, you just got to get great players.

And then I look specifically at Seattle, who just

won a Super Bowl by having a defense particularly that they built in a way where, man, that secondary

can do so many different things in so many different ways. It became something that smart

quarterbacks were doing breakdowns up before the Super Bowl. What makes the Seahawks defense

so difficult for teams to take on?

And part of that is having a secondary that can line up in a lot of different ways, disguised a lot of different things, and having pieces that are, you know, buzzword variable, right? Like they can do a lot of different things. That to me is Caleb Downs, right? So while we're sitting here saying you can't take a safety in the top 10,

you know, you can't take a safety that high. Caleb Downs is one of the few, I think, truly generational type players in this year's draft. If my favorite team selects him, I don't care if he goes second, third, fourth, I don't care. I don't care if he's a safety. At the end of the day for me, he's a defensive player that makes an immediate impact that makes my team better from day one.
