The NBA regular season ended last night.

We finally get the playoffs,

which means we can finally stop talking about tanking and load management and all of that junk and talk about basketball. But as we get there, there's an important note. The wrong dude's about to win the MVP. And it's pretty clear to me. Nikola Yokic, by the way, if anyone didn't pay attention, finishes this season averaging 27.7 points per game.

That's great. Also averaging 12.9 rebounds and 10.7 assists. Why is that significant?

Because Yokic last night became the first player in NBA history to lead the league in both rebounds per game and assist per game in a season.

And I'm not just talking about the first player to do it in the same season.

He is literally the first player ever to lead the league in those two categories in any season.

No player that's ever led the league in rebounds in a season has also led the league in assists in a season in a season and

Yokic did it in the same year. So every time. While averaging a triple double. Yeah. I mean,

it's just, it's insane. It's absolutely insane. And the funny thing is, look, I get it. Like, it's Yokic.

Yokic, you know, we have this conversation. Is he a top 10 player ever? And immediately people say, oh, God, no, because NBA historians come in and say, yeah, but, you know, he's not Michael and he's not LeBron and he's not, and you can go down the list. There's certain names of magic that are just anointed and handled there. And I look at it and say, okay, but at what point do we need to change the tone of the entire conversation around Yokish?

is doing it, and oh, by the way, you have a championship. Like, we absolutely fawn over Yonis in ways

that we do not ever fawn over Yokic and Yokic is clearly a better player.

He's clearly the best player of his generation buck and it's driving me crazy at this point

that nobody wants to just step back and acknowledge that hey it might not look the way that

where you see might not have that superstar it factor for some people don't like like the way he plays the game, whatever your answer to that is, but his dominance is absolutely unquestionable. Yeah, I don't think anybody's questioning it, right? So, he's third in the MVP this year. He's third. He's going to be third behind Wemby and SGA. What the hell are Wembe and SGA doing that's actually better than Yokic?
