Seahawks draft blogs, Rob Staten, joining us right now in the Emerald Clean Casino Sportsbook Hotline. And what a perfect person to talk to ahead of the Seahawks draft. I'm going to start with just kind of an easy question. Neither Bump, nor I expect the Seahawks to stick with those four picks. Bucks saying it's going to become, how many? Six. Six. Six. I think they might make it seven.

0:38.4

Rob, what about you?

0:39.9

You think John Schneider flips this thing? Well, I think you'd be very interested in doing that just because of the fact they only have the four picks. But I am reminded of the 2021 draft and expecting the Seahawks to trade down multiple times because they only had three picks that year. And they didn't. They just stuck in their spots, picked three players, and moved on and kind of wrote that draft off a little bit because it was the COVID draft. I don't think they're going to write this draft off, but I do think there are some similarities. There are a lot of question marks about this draft class, not the deepest class. You know, those picks in round four and five, which usually can be quite useful, they might be looking at this board and

1:11.3

thinking, if we're picking towards the end of those rounds, we're basically going to be looking

1:15.3

at priority free agent grades already. That's how thin this draft class could potentially be.

1:20.2

So it depends what you're getting back. I saw Eric Edholm, NFL.com posting this idea that

1:26.8

the Steelers might trade up from 53 and give the Seahawks four picks.

1:30.3

That was quite interesting.

1:31.7

I was quite interested in that idea because then you picked four times between like 53 and 96.

1:35.9

And that I think is going to be a good place, a good area to pick from.

1:39.3

Once you've got past 96 though, when you get towards 110 in this draft class,

1:43.2

I think the value is just going to sink. And you are going to be looking at those undrafted free agent grades. What do you think the approach should be? Like, you look at this team and yeah, they lost some guys, right? You got boy who's out, K9 or whatnot. But when you look at what their approach should be during this draft? What do you think should be a priority?

2:02.4

Well, I think first and foremost, you've got to try and get the best players you can. I don't

2:05.9

think they need to be held to the fact that they've got to replace a running back in Ken Walker.

2:10.9

They've got to replace Rieckwollen. They've got to go and replace potentially a safety.

2:16.9

They've got Boya M Mafay who's going to need

2:19.1

replace and to get those quick wins off the edge. It's great if the value matches up with need,

2:24.1

and that has perhaps worked a couple of times in the last couple of drafts in round one with Zabel
