I wanted to start by obviously talking about the big contract news this morning for Colt Emerson.

My first thought was what it means for JP, so that's just going to be, we have other questions,

but that's going to be my question for you. I know we all assumed it could be JPs last season, but how do you, if you're

the Mariners, Joe, balance getting those ABs, presumably this year for Cole while also

respecting J.P.'s role on this team? Yeah, I think the acquisition of Brendan Donovan kind of helps solve this problem,

right? I mean, you can open up third base for Colt Emerson. When he becomes available, you can move

Brendan Donovan to right field. I think the thing about JP is he's so much more to this team than just

the starting shortstop, right? I mean, he's he's a culture setter. He's a guy that can hit at the top of the lineup, hit at the bottom of the lineup. I think he kind of brings an energy to the team that is lacking when he's not there. So short of there being injuries from J.P. Crawford further going forward, I don't think you're going to see him move off the shortstop position too much. Now, one thing I will say is over the last six, seven, eight years, as long as JP has been here, he has been the guy at shortstop. He has not gotten many days off. He is on the older side. He's been beaten up quite a bit over the last couple of years. I think you might see JP get more days off this year. Maybe he, you know, takes a day off every 10 days and Colt slides in at that

shortstop position.

But in general, I think you are still going to see J.P. Crawford be kind of the leader, the captain of this ship, at least emotionally.

We've been trying to figure out what's going on with Kyle.

It was nice to see him have that walk off last night and

kind of fix some things. And I think we kind of settled on his spring routine was jacked up a little bit with the WBC only getting what, eight ABs over there. What do you see in out of Cal? How does he get back on track? Yeah, he's in between, right? I mean, his pitch selection isn't there. He He hasn't seen enough pitches in the spring.

You swing it at pitches that are at his eyes.
