Here for the reading of God's word in 1 Peter chapter 1, verse 3 through 7 in the English standard version of the scriptures.

Notice these words, Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, according to His great mercy,

he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you,

who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last times. In this you rejoice,

though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials,

so that the tested genuineness of your faith, more precious than gold that perishes,

though it be tested by fire, may be found

to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

You may be seated, and we are speaking today from the subject, hope never dies. Hope never dies. It is interesting

that the scriptures here is telling us in verse three that we are born again to a living hope.

It is an eternal hope.

It is a hope that never dies.

A living hope through the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ from the dead.

Because he lives, we live.

Because Jesus is hope personified.

In other words, hope has a name.

Its name is Jesus.

And we are blessed to be able to have this hope that never

dies. Hope never dies, particularly when it is rooted in Jesus Christ. That's a blessing for us today.

But I want you to think about the fact that all hope is born out of despair.
