Welcome to Bible Thinker, the program dedicated to thinking

biblically about everything. I'm Pastor Mike Winger and today we're

continuing our verse by verse study through first Peter.

And today we're just kind of continue going verse by verse through first

Peter. Some of the things that you know are going to come up today are the concept of

being born again, the resurrection of Jesus and what it means and hope in the midst of grief, which I think is actually a more complicated idea than people sometimes give it credit for.

But if we get it, we should be wonderfully

comforted.

So if you would open to 1 Peter Chapter 1, and we're going to start in verse 1, just to kind of

remind us of what we've already covered

Peter an apostle of Jesus Christ to the pilgrims of the dispersion in Pontus Galatia

Capidocia, Asia, and Bethania.

Elect, according to the foreknowledge of God, the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit,

for obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ, grace to you and peace be multiplied.

You know I didn't mention this before. The Trinity is mentioned here, each member of the Trinity, but each of them specifically

is mentioned in relation to our salvation.

So we see each of them active in salvation.

And this is one of the cool things about the doctrine of the Trinity as you go through the scriptures, you see each member of the Trinity is active in creation, active in salvation, active in these various different aspects.

So they each take part, but they each take part differently.

And it's just the uniqueness of God.

I mean, there's no one like him.
