week. The theme for this week's series is gratitude for your past.

Taking a look at your past, which includes your past experiences and those

people who helped to influence you as well as your ancestors. In today's

episode, you're going to be honoring the past by repeating an affirmation. This is

an affirmation to help you experience gratitude for those who have gone

before you. And I did a little research into how ancestors influence you. The

history of your ancestors can help you gain a greater understanding of some of

the challenges that they face during their lifetimes. And it often inspires more

love and compassion for their flaws and mistakes. You begin to notice what they

may have made certain decisions and that you may begin to develop a greater

appreciation for family traditions. And this may inspire you to embrace your

culture and to understand where you came from. This helps you to develop a

certain appreciation for who you are because you realize that all your life

experiences shape you. Not just one particular event, and certainly maybe some

of the mistakes your ancestors made. Open your eyes to how you will choose to

live differently. And also challenges they overcame can inspire you to

persevere during challenges in your own life. So as you settle yourself down and

get ready to meditate, I invite you to reflect on an ancestor. This may be

someone that helped to raise you. Maybe it's someone who you never met. But you
