Why are tech leaders in Silicon Valley obsessing over heaven and hell. Why is a community which is famous for its repudiation of Christianity for deeply secular upbringing, for its embrace of spiritual

trends, many of them Buddhist-inspired, suddenly fascinated by the book of Revelation, by the Antichrist,

and by the prospect of either a techno-utopia or a techno-apocalypse.

This is a subject of a fascinating piece that recently appeared in a spectator world

by the magazine's art editor, Luke Lyman, who joins me today.

Luke, I've written myself a bit about Peter Fields, I think, completely barking mad,

invocation of the Antichrist as a dark force that might stop the development of his favorite model of techno-utopia.

In your article, you write about people who think that technology itself is in unleashing the

forces of the Antichrist.

We're living in very unsettled times.

Could you just give me a quick picture of what's going on?
