Welcome to a very special episode of Our Henhouse.

And this is Marianne Sullivan.

And per usual, one of our Thanksgiving traditions is every year we like to air a radio play that we were

able to perform live several years back now. I think it was 2018, which is bananas to me that that was

like four thanksgivings ago. But it was such a wonderful memory. And this play that we were able to

perform is called Sanctuary. And it was performed a wonderful memory and this play that we were able to perform is called

sanctuary and it was performed at new york city's symphony space it was written by john yunker

who is an incredibly talented playwright and person in general and the our henhouse team we

were the actors and the crew in in this because at the time we

that that was kind of who made up the our hen house team just a bunch of performers of various

types and eric milano who who was one of our sound gurus at our henhouse has gone on to win two Emmys since this,

by the way. So it's pretty cool. Not actually for this production, though. I don't know why.

Yeah, I don't know why either. But he was like doing a lot of the sound effects live.

You know, like when there was walking up and downstairs, he would take high heels and put them on like a wooden thing that he had. It was really fun, really fun. And it's such a, it's such a, I love this place so much. I love listening to it. And you know, like, don't they play Alice's restaurant every year on Thanksgiving. Yeah, I think that is where we got the idea, though I might have been the

who got the idea.

But yeah, Alice's restaurant, Arlo Guthrie's famous Talking Blues song from the 60s, Thanksgiving

themed.

It was during the Vietnam War.

It was very political in its own very funny, quirky way.

And yes, it is probably still radio stations that replay it every

year on Thanksgiving. Yeah, completely. So I would say without further ado,
