Tools. Today's cast, the High D Manager simple downfall. Here we are going to talk about high-dees. You've been following

so far you know that we've talked about the high C's, the high S's, the high

eyes, and we're finally getting to high D's. High D's like bottom line up front, and they want you to get right to things.

So we're going to get right into it. So Mark, what are we going to talk about today for high

Ds? Yeah we've got four points in the agenda so high Ds it won't take that that long. We're going to give you a little bit more

detail on the agenda here so for those of you high D's only want to listen for three minutes we'll hit you right in the nose and

you go back to work. The first point is is actually a reminder or an introductory

point which is don't assume your boss is a high D.

I'm going to come back to that one.

We'll talk about that one last, okay?

Get to know your team.

The fundamental problem with high-d managers

is they tend to put results in front of relationships.

They always slight relationships in order

to get more results.

If they have a choice between results and relationships,

they choose results over and over and over again.

And as we said before, as we said over and over and over again on manager tools,

it takes both results and relationships. Early in your career, it can be all results. You don't really need relationships.

Later in your career, it's almost all relationships. You still have to have results, but relationships become increasingly more important because you have less ability to get things done directly.
