Hey, why's everybody hate each other? What's up with that?

Well I was in college, I dated whole softball teams without ever knowing their political affiliation.

Now half the people I meet bring up politics first thing.

I literally once had a dentist conclude a teeth- session early because I disagreed with him on politics.

Ridiculous.

So here's what we're going to do today.

We're going to trot out various theories as to why partisanship, why

tribalism, is on the rise. It's not random, is it? Okay, then what's causing it? What is the main factor? What is the primary drive, the main ingredient

that is causing partisanship to rise? Because maybe if we figure that out out we could do something about it.

To test various hypotheses I am bringing on none other than my dear friend and

fantastic guest Andrea Jones Roy.
