In our busy world, family time frequently gets neglected.

It is vital that we give attention to our families while we can,

and it is especially important to give attention to what God says in his word about our homes. For the next few minutes,

let's join Scott Pauli as we open the scriptures and find God's message for your family.

Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

What a great verse.

Proverbs 22, verse number six.

Now, in our last study, I talked to all the young people from this verse and gave a few suggestions for the children who are growing up

under the tutelage and training and teaching of godly parents and of spiritual people in

their local church receive that training. A young lady said to me recently,

when do I get to decide for myself? She was a little frustrated about something.

And the answer to that question is, you already are. You're already making decisions. It's not

just you can decide or you will decide. You are deciding even now. Others can point you in the

right direction, but you have to take it.

And so surely as God has a way for you and others are going to try to help you find and get on that way and stay on that way, you must choose for yourself.

That's why the Bible says train up a child in the way he should go.

Should implies that everyone will not.

No one can coerce your conscience and violate your free will. You are personally responsible and personally accountable to God. God makes the plan. Others provide the

training, but you must choose. And I would say to every young person listening to me today,

get ready to be old. That's right. Get ready to be old because the days of childhood and youth

passed so quickly and soon you'll be looking back on the decisions you're making right now.

What kind of person do you want to be in 30 years? You're choosing that today.
