So if you are just joining us, this summer, we're walking through the Hall of Faith.

0:04.4

Hebrews Chapter 11 is the New Testament collection of men and women from the Old Testament scriptures

who God used in mighty ways. And last Sunday, on Father's Day, it's fitting. And we didn't

0:16.6

talk about Moses. We actually talked about Moses's parents. This is a new way of reading the scriptures

0:23.7

that we've been challenging our church to the last couple of years, which is when you read about

0:28.6

the heroes of your faith, don't always insert yourself as the main character. Like, I think sometimes

0:35.8

we read about Daniel and we're like, I'm going into

0:38.2

the Lions Den, I trust God. We read about Esther and we're like, I want to stand up boldly for the

1:22.7

That will make more sense in a little while. You're like, I don't get it at all. No ships,

1:27.0

at least not that I'm

1:27.9

seeing in the Moses story. Hold on. Stay with me. Actually, there is a few. Now that I think about it,

1:33.0

but don't get distracted, Miles. Stay on course. Burn the ships. I chose this title because there's a

1:38.1

famous story in history from the 1500s about an explorer named Hernan Cortez.

1:45.0

And Cortez is famous for overcoming and not just conquering,

1:50.0

but settling the Aztec Empire in Mexico,

1:54.0

but the most famous story about him is when him and about 500 men left Cuba,
