We had a moment last week to reflect the day after the speech to the

UN. However, now that it's several days later, I believe that Al-Sharah, the self-named president

of Syria, there was no vote, there's no democracy, calling himself president is pretentious

and misleading. He is the strong man of Damascus.

His presentation to the UN, however, apparently opened the doors in all directions.

Your measure now, several days afterwards, not only was his success question mark, but others

did they believe him, or was there a lot of ceremony in front of the

Good evening, John. I think this was a very important visit in Sharaz's eyes. He's seeking that international normalization and to just to portray himself as the only option for serious stability.

Not only did he give us the first UN speech since 1967, but he also met with world leaders

and in order to, first of all, position himself domestically as, as, I mean, in order to consolidate power domestically by showing his opponents that, oh, look, I got, I got this meeting with this president and that president.

Essentially, he met with the French president, the Italian prime minister.

He met with President Zelensky.
